Isostatic Pressing Services is a valued partner for industries throughout the United States and the world, renowned and respected as much for our expertise and efficiency as for our responsive and friendly follow-through.

The HIPing services we provide for our industrial clients across the energy sectors — oil and gas, for example — are fundamental to the successful application of multiple components, all of which must function reliably and consistently despite extreme conditions, such as ultra-high pressure and highly abrasive slurries.

You’ll find our work represented across multiple industrial applications, including electrical and telecommunications housing, machine tools, and for cat impellers and casings that are crucial to the water industry.

The HIPing process developed and perfected by IPS in concert with its sister companies in Ohio and Mississippi allows for the HIPing of large, defect-free valve bodies and components.

Our processes also allow for diffusion bonding of dissimilar materials whereby a high-performance material can be clad onto a cheaper material or a material comprised of different properties. The heat and pressure applied during the HIPing process make them intimately bonded. Thus, IPS ensures that our clients see first-hand how cost-effective our system is for very large components.

IPS system capabilities:

  • Operating up to 1260 degrees Celsius and up to 30,000 psi. Our HIP system features a molybdenum furnace capable of 1260 degrees Celsius in argon.
  • Typical heat ramp is 10 degrees Celsius per minute. The temperature gradient is plus or minus 10 degrees Celsius.
  • Pressure control is plus or minus 250 psi.
  • Steel and stainless steel load shelves are available as well as alumina plates to prevent sticking.
